Join us in Montréal — Canada’s premier city for arts and culture — for the Festival Choral du Mont-Royal! This inspiring international festival welcomes high school and university choirs to experience the vibrant energy of this world-class city rich in history, architecture, and creativity. Choirs will perform in some of the city’s most celebrated venues, including the Notre-Dame Basilica, and also collaborate in a combined performance as part of the final Gala concert under the direction of our distinguished visiting guest conductor.

FESTIVAL oVERVIEW

Day 1 – Arrival and Welcome to Montreal
  • Afternoon check-in at festival hotel
  • Welcome Dinner
  • Evening group rehearsal with guest conductor followed by social function


Day 2 – Exploring Montreal’s Charm

  • Morning guided tour of Montreal
  • Afternoon visit and short performance at Notre-Dame Basilica
  • Free time to shop and explore Old Montreal
  • Evening shared concert at one of the festival venues throughout Montreal
 
Day 3 – Rehearsal and Gala Performance
  • Morning group rehearsal with guest conductor
  • Afternoon individual soundchecks and time to explore Montreal’s Underground City
  • Evening Gala Performance at Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church

Day 4 – Departure Day
  • Optional sightseeing and/or musical activities if time allows
  • Depart Montreal for home

Quebec City Extension

A 2-day extension to visit Quebec City, one of the oldest European settlements in North America, is available on request.

accommodation

The accommodation at the festival hotel is based on quad occupancy.  Triple, twin, and single supplements are available.

Transportation

Choirs flying to Montreal, will be provided with bus transfers to and from the airport. During the festival, choirs will use Montreal’s excellent and extensive Metro system.

CONCERTS

During the festival, each choir will perform in three featured concerts showcasing their own unique artistry and repertoire. Under the leadership of the Festival Guest Conductor, all choirs will also unite to perform 20 minutes of shared repertoire during the Gala Finale

SIGHTSEEING

Montreal blends old-world charm with modern energy. During the festival, participants will experience its diverse vibrant neighborhoods filled with cafés, shops, galleries, and street art.

EXTEND YOUR STAY

There are options to extend your time in Canada with additional performance and sightseeing opportunities.  You can request additional nights either before or after the festival to further explore this amazing country.
